During the WEHT tournament, the Czechia women’s team achieved two victories and suffered one defeat, ultimately securing their triumph in the inaugural tournament held in Switzerland. They commenced their campaign with a win against Finland, followed by a setback against the host nation, Switzerland. However, their subsequent victory over Sweden enabled them to clinch a prestigious first place at the Swiss Hockey Games.
Natálie Mlýnková made a significant impact in the first period by scoring two goals, followed by Klára Hymlárová, who added another before the intermission, establishing a commanding three-goal advantage for the national team. Nevertheless, Sara Hjalmarsson quickly responded, scoring shortly thereafter and reinvigorating the Swedish side’s chances in the contest.
Ultimately, the national team emerged victorious with a final score of 6:3. This triumph not only highlighted their skill and determination but also underscored their ability to perform under pressure, securing a well-deserved win in a challenging game.

Five Nations Tournament U20
The Czech under-20 national team demonstrated remarkable resilience at the five-nation tournament in Zug, undeterred by the absence of eight players from the original roster. Their performance was nothing short of exceptional, as they concluded the tournament without suffering a single defeat. This achievement highlights the depth of talent within the team and their ability to adapt to challenging circumstances.
The game started like an open house, with both teams scoring early. In the first minute, Michael Hrabal caught Finnish captain Huttu off guard. But after the penalty, the Czechs took control and outnumbered the Finns.
The Czechs had chances to score, but the Finnish defenders were ready. Later, Maštalířský had a great chance, but Rimpinen blocked it. The Finns kept the Czechs in their zone, but the Czechs were determined.
After the break, the Czechs scored more goals. Hradec, Kalužík, and Eduard Šalé had chances, but Šalé scored from a wide angle – 1:0. The game then fell apart for the Finns.
The Czechs got four power plays and scored twice during them. Jakub Fibigr made a great play in the power play, tricking an opponent and scoring. Jiří Felcman added two assists and a goal, deflecting Šalé’s shot. Adam Jecho scored a unique goal, knocking the puck behind his back – 4:0.

The Czech defense was strong, even when weakened. The Finns didn’t create any big chances. The Czechs worked well together, but didn’t score again.
Ylitalo’s pass was knocked down by Šalé, scoring the fifth goal. Židlický and Galvas had chances but missed. The Czechs could have won by ten goals.
After three losses to the Finns, the Czech junior team finally won.

Women’s 4 Nations Tournament
During a four-team tournament in Füssen that took place from Thursday to Saturday, the Hungarian women’s national team competed against various opponents. In their opening match, they encountered Slovakia, resulting in a loss of 2-1. Effi Hiezl Réka managed to score Hungary’s only goal in the 57th minute, providing a moment of pride amidst the defeat.
On Friday, the Hungarian women’s team faced off against France, who had suffered a defeat to the host nation, Germany, the previous day. Under the exceptional leadership of defender Anikó Németh, the national team delivered a commanding performance, securing a victory with a scoreline of 4-0.
The concluding segment of the final game saw a pivotal moment when Kreisz scored in the 48th minute, marking a crucial turning point for Hungary (4-3). This goal not only shifted the momentum in their favor but also solidified their position in the game. The resilience displayed by the players throughout the game was commendable, as they fought back from a seemingly insurmountable deficit.
