Ice Hockey in United States
Ice hockey in the United States is overseen by USA Hockey, which has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation since 1920. The U.S. men’s national team made its international debut that same year and has since secured three gold medals at the World Championships and two at the Olympic Games. The women’s and junior teams entered the international arena in 1987 and 1973, respectively. Notably, the U.S. women’s team has consistently medaled at both the Olympic Games and World Championships, while the junior team has achieved remarkable success with seven gold medals at the World Junior Championships.
